Previously headquartered in London, UK, Aruna also announced the appointment of key executives. These experienced industry executives – Steve Atherton, CTO, John Colson, VP Sales and Operations, and Hollis Tibbetts, VP Marketing, will be responsible for defining Aruna’s sales, marketing and technology strategy to leverage the explosive growth in the Business Intelligence market.
Steve Atherton, Chief Technology Officer brings 25 years experience in the areas of database and business intelligence to Aruna Solutions. Atherton was recently CTO for ClearCommerce (now eFunds) and previously in executive management with OnDisplay (now Vignette) and Sybase.
John Colson, VP Sales and Operations, comes to Aruna Solutions from CorVu where he was Sr. VP of Sales. Colson’s previous positions include VP of N. American Sales for Hyperion, and SVP Worldwide Sales at SeeCommerce.
Hollis Tibbetts, VP Marketing, has over 20 years experience in marketing, sales and business development at leading companies such as Sybase, webMethods, and OnDisplay (now
Vignette). Tibbetts was most recently VP of Product Marketing at M7 Corporation (now BEA) and Principal at a private marketing company.
Atherton, Colson and Tibbetts will join Chairman and CEO Jack Hewitt, and Chief Scientist Dr. Gaston Gonnet. Hewitt was formerly CEO of Versata, and has also held other COO, senior government (Assistant Secretary U.S. Air Force and UnderSecretary, Department of Energy) and executive positions at Chase Bank. Dr. Gonnet is a world-renowned academic specializing in data structures and symbolic computation. Dr. Gonnet holds the Chair of Information Science at ETH, the renowned technical university in Zurich. Dr. Gonnet was co-founder of Open Text, Waterloo Maple and Aruna. He also co-designed the original search engine used by Yahoo!.
