Portal Insurance Agency, Inc., located in Walnut Creek, CA and Las Vegas, NV, has announced that it has changed its name to Ascension Benefits & Insurance Solutions. For the last 15 months, the company has been part of Ascension Insurance, Inc. Ascension offers full-service consulting, employee benefits, risk management and insurance solutions to public and private companies, municipalities, non-profits and colleges and universities nationwide. The company’s rebranding effort is part of an expansion of operations designed to deliver greater access to strategic employee benefits consulting, expertise and resources to businesses, non-profit organizations, municipalities and colleges and universities.

Ascension’s President and CEO, Leonard P. Kline, Jr., added that the company’s rebranding effort is accompanied by key additions to executive management, including Nicole Jones-Gyllstrom, who will become President and CEO of Ascension Benefits & Insurance Solutions, replacing Charles Yeomans. Mr. Yeomans will remain with the company as a consultant. In addition, Sean Robbins will join the company as Vice President of Account Management & Underwriting.

Prior to joining Ascension, Sean Robbins was the Director of Underwriting for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nevada. In announcing his appointment, Jones-Gyllstrom commented, "We are very pleased to welcome Sean to Ascension. His demonstrated ability to drive results through innovative plan design and financing options will enable us to deliver even more solutions that help our clients to remain competitive and attract and retain high-quality employees."
