SourceMedical's hosted Vision and Vision EHR services will offer benefits to both independent facilities and multi-facility chains
Birmingham, Ala. (PRWEB) March 3, 2010
SourceMedical, the leading provider of ambulatory surgery, specialty hospital, and therapy application software, announced today plans to deliver a hosted application specifically for ASCs.
"SourceMedical's hosted Vision and Vision EHR services will offer benefits to both independent facilities and multi-facility chains," said Scott Palmer, president and COO of SourceMedical's Surgery Division. "Our objective is to reduce the overall total cost of ownership of our applications while providing more secure, reliable and scalable solutions at a fixed monthly cost. This solution also provides our AdvantX and SurgiSource clients with an easier and less expensive path to upgrading to Vision and Vision EHR, eliminating the costly upgrading or replacing of in-house servers. Combined with the free Vision application upgrade, our clients can now move to Vision with a very limited capital investment and comply with the coming HITECH requirements."
Viewed as a critical part of helping ASCs leverage technology to respond to economic and reimbursement challenges, while improving service to patients and physicians, the offering of hosted Vision and Vision EHR are just the beginning of what will be a number of new products and services available on a hosted, subscription basis. A number of new products are in development that will leverage the benefits of a web based environment.
"On a daily basis we work with clients that have in-house servers that are not kept current with equipment and operating system updates, are not compliant from a security standpoint, have questionable backup procedures, and overall jeopardize the productivity of the staff and the facility," reports Marc Adelberg, vice president Client Services. "Clients often need to engage their IT vendors to manage our application releases, which we deliver on a frequent basis to keep pace with changing regulatory and market requirements. In this new, hosted environment we will be able to upgrade the applications automatically, and monitor and backup the servers on an ongoing basis, while having the added benefit of getting new client applications up and running more quickly."
