It’s Ashworth’s mission to ensure that our programs meet the needs of those with military affiliations, particularly military spouses.
Peachree Corners, Georgia (PRWEB) March 01, 2012
Ashworth College (http://www.ashworthcollege.edu/), a leading online school and provider of educational programs for military spouses, announced today that it is a sponsor of Military.com’s 2012 Spouse Summit in Arlington, VA, March 2-3, 2012.
The Spouse Summit was established as a platform for informing and empowering military spouses. The two day event will bring military spouses and subject matter experts together to address issues facing today’s military family, including overcoming obstacles that stand in the way of career and education goals and how the economy affects military pay and benefits.
“Military spouses are aware of the importance of furthering their education and how it can make a significant difference in their careers and the family’s well-being,” said Rodney Butler, U.S. Army First Sergeant, Retired and Ashworth College Military Education Coordinator. “We’re excited to be a sponsor of this important event and to demonstrate how attainable an online education can be – both in terms of affordability and in the flexibility to meet the demands of the military lifestyle”.
With more than 115 accredited online programs, Ashworth College accepts ACE credits and is approved for a range of other military benefits including Post 9/11 GI Bill, Montgomery GI Bill, GoArmyEd, and MyCAA. Many of Ashworth’s programs have particular appeal to military spouses including career diploma and certificate programs as well as associate and bachelor’s degree programs in business, early childhood education and health care.
"It’s Ashworth’s mission to ensure that our programs meet the needs of those with military affiliations, particularly military spouses,” Butler added. “Our accredited degree programs are as low as $64 dollars per credit hour, compared to similar schools that push theirs as high as $250 per credit hour. And with zero out of pocket costs, it’s common for a military spouse to earn an Ashworth career diploma, certificate or degree using only MyCAA benefits.”
A Yellow Ribbon School, Ashworth has been further recognized as a military friendly school by both G.I. Jobs and Military Advanced Education magazines. The online school also supports a campus chapter of the Student Veteran’s Association and was a sponsor of Military Spouse magazine’s 2010 and 2011 Military Spouse of the Year Award programs.
