The community is the only senior living community in Mercer County that is certified to operate through the Illinois Supportive Living program.
"We provide older adults with a wonderful alternative to a nursing home or to struggling alone at home," says Danise Lenz, Director of Marketing for Heritage Woods of Aledo. "Residents benefit from living in a residential apartment-home environment and receiving personal assistance and help with medications."
Each of the private studio and one-bedroom apartments at Heritage Woods features a kitchenette, spacious bathroom with shower and grab bars, individually controlled heating and air conditioning, and an emergency alert system.
Certified nursing assistants are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All three meals each day, housekeeping and laundry are among the included services.
"Residents also benefit from all of the opportunities that are available to socialize with friends and neighbors and participate in social activities and special programs," says Lenz.
The community has been managed by BMA Management, Ltd., of Bradley, Illinois since it opened for occupancy in October 2006.
BMA is the largest provider of assisted living in Illinois.
The company operates 36 senior living communities that together house nearly 3,400 homes and apartments.
"Our focus is on providing residents with the love, compassion and dignity that they deserve in addition to the help and assistance that they need," says Rod Burkett, President and CEO of BMA. "Our emphasis is on helping each resident to achieve and maintain as much independence as possible for as long as possible."
Communities managed by BMA include the Grand Prairie affordable assisted living community in Macomb, Illinois, and the Heritage Woods affordable assisted living communities in Moline, Ottawa and Sterling, Illinois.
