BMA Management, Ltd., recently honored three assisted living communities for supporting local charitable causes.

Based in Bradley, Illinois, BMA Management is the largest provider of assisted living in Illinois.

The communities honored by BMA were Heritage Woods of Dwight in Dwight, Illinois; Heritage Woods of South Elgin in South Elgin, Illinois; and Heritage Woods of McLeansboro in McLeansboro, Illinois.

Heritage Woods of Dwight was presented with the 1st Place Giving Back award for its support of the Ronald McDonald House, American Red Cross, Operation SOS Soldiers, Helping Our Heroes, and Food for our Troops.

Heritage Woods of South Elgin was presented with the 2nd Place Giving Back award for its support of the United Way, Elgin Wayside Ministry, Salvation Army and Cystic Fibrous.

Heritage Woods of McLeansboro was given the 3rd Place Giving Back award for its support of Relay for Life, the Fox Meadows Parkinson’s Support Group and the Harrisburg Tornado Recovery.

All three communities are affordable assisted living communities that operate through the Illinois Supportive Living program. They serve older adults of all incomes, including those on Medicaid, who need some help to maintain their independence.

“The communities provide older adults with a wonderful alternative to a nursing home or to struggling alone at home,” says Rod Burkett, President and CEO of BMA Management.

BMA manages 36 senior living communities, including Heritage Woods of Dwight, Heritage Woods of McLeansboro and Heritage Woods of South Elgin.

The communities combine the opportunity for residents to benefit from living in a residential apartment-hone environment with the availability of personal assistance and help with medications, says Burkett.

The apartments feature a kitchenette, spacious bathroom with shower and grad bars, and an emergency alert system.

Certified nursing assistants are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Meals, housekeeping and laundry are among the included services.

“Our focus is on providing residents with the love, compassion and dignity that they deserve in addition to the care and assistance that the need,” says Burkett. “Our emphasis is on helping each resident to achieve and maintain as much independence as possible for as long as possible.”

In addition to the affordable assisted living apartments at Heritage Woods of South Elgin, the campus features one of the five affordable memory care communities that were approved as pilot projects by the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services. White Oaks serves older adults of all incomes with Alzheimer’s or related dementia.

Heritage Woods of McLeansboro is the only affordable assisted living community in Hamilton County, Illinois.
