Prairie Living at Chautauqua, an affordable assisted living community in Carbondale, Illinois, is hosting a Pancake Breakfast on Wednesday, Nov. 28.
The community provides seniors of all incomes, including those on Medicaid, with the opportunity to live in a residential apartment-home setting and receive personal assistance and help with medications.
The breakfast is free and open to the public.
“Come and enjoy our first-class dining experiences and all the pancakes and sausages you can eat,” says Heather Laughland-Etherton, Administrator of Prairie Living. “We will be serving from 7 to 9 a.m.”
She adds that “after breakfast, we invite you to take a tour of Prairie Living and learn about the affordable assisted living lifestyle that is available.”
Prairie Living is located 1.5 miles west of Southern Illinois University at 955 Villa Ct. in Carbondale, Illinois.

“Prairie Living provides a wonderful alternative to a nursing home or to struggling alone at home,” says Etherton.
Each of the community’s private apartments features a kitchenette, spacious bathroom with shower and grab bars, and an emergency alert system. Certified nursing assistants are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Meals, housekeeping and laundry are among the included services.
In addition, residents benefit from plenty of opportunities to socialize and participate in a variety of activities and special programs, says Etherton.
