"The community's affordable assisted living apartments are designed for older adults of all incomes, including those on Medicaid, who need some help to maintain their independence," says Dennis Krupp, Director of Marketing for Heritage Woods of Centralia.

"The apartments provide a wonderful alternative to a nursing home or to struggling alone at home," he adds. "Residents benefit from living in a residential environment with the availability of personal assistance, help with medications and a variety of convenience and support services."

Residents live in private studio and one-bedroom apartments that they furnish and decorate to their tastes. Each of the apartments features a kitchenette, spacious bathroom with shower and grab bars, individually controlled heating and air conditioning, and emergency alert system.

Certified nursing assistants, working under the direction of a licensed nurse, are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All three meals each day, housekeeping and laundry are among the included services.

"Residents also benefit from all of the opportunities that are available to socialize with friends and neighbors and to participate in activities and special programs such as our Yoga for Seniors classes," says Krupp.

The affordable assisted living apartments are certified to operate through the Illinois Supportive Living program.

The community is managed by BMA Management, Ltd., the largest provider of assisted living in Illinois.

"Our focus in our assisted living apartments is to provide residents with the love, compassion and dignity that they deserve and the help and assistance that they need," says Rod Burkett, President and CEO of BMA.

Based in Bradley, Illinois, BMA Management operates 36 assisted living, senior living and memory care communities.

The communities include the Heritage Woods affordable assisted living communities in Benton, Charleston, Flora, McLeansboro and Mt. Vernon. BMA also manages the Prairie Living affordable assisted living community in Carbondale and the Cambridge House affordable assisted living communities in the St. Louis Metro East area.
