The Heritage Woods of Charleston affordable assisted living community is hosting a First Anniversary Open House from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3.
The community is certified to operate through the Illinois Supportive Living program, which enables Heritage Woods to serve seniors of all incomes, including those on Medicaid.
“Come and celebrate our First Birthday with us at our Open House, says Glenn Gentry, Administrator of Heritage Woods. “The Open House provides a wonderful opportunity to see Heritage Woods and to learn about the affordable assisted living lifestyle that is available.”

The community, which is located at 480 Polk Ave. in Charleston, Illinois, features 68 private studio and one-bedroom apartments. Each of the apartments has a kitchenette; spacious bathroom with shower and grab bars; and an emergency alert system.
“Residents of Heritage Woods enjoy the opportunity to live in a residential environment and receive help with medications and personal assistance,” says Gentry.
Certified nursing assistants are on-duty at Heritage Woods 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
“Our focus is on providing residents with the love, compassion and dignity they deserve in addition to the care and assistance they need,” says Gentry. “Our emphasis is on helping each resident achieve and maintain as much independence as possible for as long as possible.”
