Our program will have you movin', rockin' and shakin'.
Bradley, IL (PRWEB) June 19, 2013
Heritage Woods of Chicago, a BMA affordable assisted living community, is hosting a Welcome to the World of Zumba class for seniors at 3 p.m. on Friday, June 21.
The community, which is located at 2800 W. Fulton St. in Chicago, Illinois, serves low-income older adults, including those on Medicaid, who need some help to maintain their independence.
"Zumba is a dance exercise that is designed to burn calories by combining Latin and international music with some easy-to-learn dance steps," says Cindy Gladney, Director of Marketing for Heritage Woods of Chicago. "Our Welcome to the World of Zumba program will be led by a dance instructor who will have you movin', rockin' and skakin'."
Heritage Woods also hosts a Senior Fitness class at 9:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The class is designed to be fun and help you to increase your fitness, says Gladney. The exercises can be done while sitting in a chair.
Both the Zumba program and the Senior Fitness class is open to the public. There is no charge to attend.

The Heritage Woods of Chicago affordable assisted living community is certified to operate through the Illinois Supportive Living program and is managed by BMA Management, Ltd., the largest provider of assisted living in Illinois.
The community combines residential apartment-home living with the availability of personal assistance, help with medications, and a variety of convenience and support services.
"We are designed to serve low-income seniors, offering them a wonderful alternative to a nursing home or to struggling alone at home," says Gladney.
Residents live in private apartments that include a private bathroom and an emergency alert system.
Certified nursing assistants, working under the direction of a licensed nurse, are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All three meals each day, housekeeping and laundry are among the included services.
"Residents also benefit from all of the opportunities that are available to socialize with friends and neighbors and to participate in activities and special programs such as our exercise classes," says Gladney.
