BMA Affordable Assisted Living Community to Host Fred and His Feathered Friends Bird Show

Heritage Woods of Flora, a BMA affordable assisted living community, is hosting the Fred and His Feathered Friends bird show at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 21.

The community, which is located at 1003 W. 4th St. in Flora, Illinois, serves older adults of all incomes, including those on Medicaid, who need some help to maintain their independence.

"Come and learn amazing facts about the parrot world and watch as Fred's birds perform remarkable and entertaining tricks," says Lucas Sigrist, Administrator of Heritage Woods of Flora.

Fred Mooney of Wayne City, Illinois has raised parrots since 1979. His birds have won "Best in Show" honors in many local and state competitions.

The Fred and His Feathered Friends bird show is open to the public. There is no charge to attend.

Heritage Woods is the only senior living community in Clay County, Illinois, that is certified to operate through the Illinois Supportive Living program.

The community combines residential apartment-home living with the availability of personal assistance, help with medications and a variety of convenience and support services.
