Grand Prairie of Macomb, a BMA affordable assisted living community, is hosting a 5th Anniversary Party on Dec. 3. The community is designed to serve older adults of all incomes, including those on Medicaid. Information about the community’s $4.8 million expansion project will be available.

Grand Prairie of Macomb, a BMA affordable assisted living community, is hosting an Anniversary Party from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 3.

Grand Prairie offer adults of all incomes the opportunity to live in a residential apartment-home environment and receive personal assistance and help with medications.

“Come and help us celebrate our 5th Anniversary,” says Andrea Keene, Administrator of Grand Prairie. “The festivities will include wine tasting, music, snacks and drawings for gift baskets.”

Grand Prairie of Macomb is located at 1307 Meadowlark Lane in Macomb, Illinois.

With the expansion, Grand Prairie will be nearly doubling in size to 84 apartments.

Each of the apartments features a kitchenette, spacious bathroom with shower and grab bars, and an emergency alert system.

Certified nursing assistants are on-duty 24 hours a day seven days a week. Meals, housekeeping and laundry are among the included services.

“We are accepting reservations for the new apartments that under construction,” says Keene. “We expect that they will be ready for occupancy in the Spring.”

Grand Prairie enjoys the distinction of being the only senior living community in McDonough County to be fully certified to operate through the Illinois Supportive Living program.

“This enables us to serve adults 65 and older of all financial means, including those on Medicaid, who need some help to maintain their independence,” says Keene.

“Our focus is on providing older adults with love, compassion and dignity in addition to the care and assistance that they need,” says Keene. “Our emphasis is on helping each resident achieve and maintain as much independence as possible for as long as possible.”

Grand Prairie is managed by BMA Management, Ltd., the largest provider of assisted living in Illinois.
