BMA Affordable Assisted Living Community to Host Program On Rockford Peaches Women's Softball Team

Heritage Woods of Rockford, a BMA affordable assisted living community, is hosting a program on the Rockford Peaches women's softball team on April 19. The Midway Village and Musuem Center will present that program about the team that inspired the movie "A League of Our Own."

Heritage Woods of Rockford, a BMA affordable assisted living community, is hosting a program on the Rockford Peaches women's softball team at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 19.

The community, which is located at 202 N. Show Place Dr. in Rockford, Illinois, serves older adults of all incomes, including those on Medicaid, who need some assistance to maintain their independence.

"We invite you to come and hear this hometown story presented by the Midway Village and Museum Center," says Yvonne Peterson, Director of Marketing for Heritage Woods of Rockford.

The Rockford Peaches were the inspiration for the movie "A League of Our Own."

The program is open to the public. There is no charge to attend.

"We provide older adults with a wonderful alternative to a nursing home or to struggling alone at home," says Peterson. "Residents benefit from living in a residential apartment-home environment and receiving personal assistance and help with medications."

Each of the private studio and one-bedroom apartments at Heritage Woods features a kitchenette, spacious bathroom with shower and grab bars, individually controlled heating and air coniditioning, and an emergency alert system.

Certified nursing assistants are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All three meals each day, housekeeping and laundry are among the included services.

"Residents also benefit from all of the opportunities that are available to socialize with friends and neighbors and enjoy social activities and special programs such as the program on the Rockford Peaches," says Peterson.

The community is certified to operate through the Illinois Supportive Living program and is managed by BMA Management, Ltd., of Bradley, Illinois.

BMA Management is the largest provider of assisted living in Illinois.
