The meetings offer educational information and emotional support
Bradley, Illinois (PRWEB) June 22, 2013
The Keeping Roots Alive Caregivers Support Group will be meeting at the Heritage Woods of South Elgin affordable assisted living and memory care community at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25.
The community, which is located at 700 N. McLean Blvd. in South Elgin, Illinois, serves older adults of all incomes, including those on Medicaid.
"The meetings are open to the public and designed to offer educational information and emotional support for those caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's or related dementia," says Andrea Lillie, Director of Marketing for Heritage Woods of South Elgin.
The support group meets at Heritage Woods on the fourth Tuesday of the month. There is no charge to attend.
To RSVP or for more information, call Lillie at 847-531-8360.
The Heritage Woods affordable assisted living and memory care community is certified to operate through the Illinois Supportive Living program and is managed by BMA Management, Ltd., the largest provider of assisted living in Illinois.
"We provide a wonderful alternative to a nursing home or to struggling alone at home," says Lillie.
The community's affordable assisted living apartments combines residential apartment-home living with the availability of personal assistance, help with medications and a variety of convenience and support services.
Residents live in the private studio and one-bedroom apartments that they furnish and decorate to their taste. Each of the apartments features a kitchenette, spacious bathroom with shower and grab bars, individually-controlled heating and air conditioning, and emergency alert system.
Certified nursing assistants, working under the direction of a licensed nurse, are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All three meals each day, housekeeping and laundry are among the included services.
"Residents also benefit from all of the opportunities that are available to socialize with friends and neighbors and to participate in activities and special events," says Lillie.
White Oaks at Heritage Woods of South Elgin features specialized apartments for older adults with Alzheimer's disease or related dementia.
Based in Bradley, Illinois, BMA Management operates 36 assisted living, senior living and memory care communities that together house nearly 3,400 homes and apartments.
"Our focus," says Rod Burkett, President and CEO of BMA Management, "is to provide residents with the love, compassion and dignity that they deserve and the help and assistance that they need. Our emphasis is on helping each resident to achieve and maintain as much independence as possible for as long as possible."
