Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) November 06, 2012

High school students from Cumberland Academy of Georgia, a SACS-CASI accredited, private, non-profit independent school dedicated to students with special needs, began an 8-week Saturday morning educational series entitled Encore – Planning the Road Trip of a Lifetime. The program is sponsored and delivered by Parent to Parent of Georgia, a statewide educational and support organization. During the program, students will increase their self awareness by exploring important life topics, such as how to live away from home, how to take care of their health, how to choose and apply to a college, how to decide on a career and field of interest, how to manage money, how to fill out a job application, how to prepare a resume and how to interview. The students will also explore how they want to use their skills, talents and passions to develop their interests and build a career. There is a high level of interaction among students as together they explore these topics.

“We are excited to offer this program to our students,” said Don Sasso, Principal of Cumberland Academy of Georgia. “This program should give a boost to these students as they will shortly begin their venture into the real world and will be faced with these important life experiences and decisions.” Facilitators guide the students for the entire educational series and will lead them on an interactive "road trip of a lifetime.” Community service hours will be awarded for participation and each student will receive a certificate of attendance from Parent to Parent of Georgia.
