The wine floored me, and after much effort, the winery had agreed to allow the wine to arrive at Capital City in small quantities!
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) May 31, 2013
On May 29, Atlanta wine store Capital City Package announced the arrival of a very exclusive and legendary wine from France, Couly-Dutheil Chinon Clos de l'Echo. This wine was hand-selected by Capital City Package’s Certified Wine Specialist Larry Kantrowitz, who traveled to France on behalf of the team in search of fine wines for customers. Kantrowitz’s trip took him to the Loire Valley, where the fantastic countryside and rolling hills of famous vineyards produce some of the finest wines in the world. In addition, Kantrowitz attended the Salon des Vins de Loire, a sort of international trade show, to select the most exclusive wines in the entire nation.
The wines selected by Kantrowitz for Capital City Package are all from family-owned vineyards dedicated to the art of wine-making taught by the generations before them. “While I was tasting away at hundreds of wines, I walked past the Couly-Dutheil stand and I noticed something special in decanter, the famed Chinon Clos de l'Echo,” says Kantrowitz regarding his experience. “The wine floored me, and after much effort, the winery had agreed to allow the wine to arrive at Capital City in small quantities!”
The Clos de l'Echo vineyard is nestled directly against the Chateau Chinon on the banks of the Loire. It takes its name from the fact that if you speak from the Chateau in the direction of the vineyard, an echo would be amplified. Between the 15th and 16th century, the Rablais family took ownership of the vineyard and the current owners took control in 1921 when the vineyard was neglected. They set about over time replanting and bringing the property to its current prestige. The vines of the vineyard, which is about 5 hectares and faces south, are Cabernet Franc and the soil is clay and limestone with quartz (Silex).
Capital City Package is currently offering only 60 bottles of 2009 Clos de l'Echo for $31.99, only 6 magnums of 2009 Clos de l'Echo Magnums for $69.99, only 12 bottles of 2009 Clos de l'Echo "Crescendo" for $69.99, and only 6 magnums of 2009 Clos de l"Echo "Crescendo” for $129.99.
