ATX Music Mag, Austin's Only Rock Magazine, Launches With Free MP3's of Local and Out of State Artists

ATX Music Mag is a local music magazine that will cover Austin’s unique underground rock scene and the talented and creative artists influencing the music world in Austin.

“The Live Music Capital of the World” will now have a rock magazine focusing on Austin’s music influence locally and out of state. ATX Music Mag has assembled a team to cover a variety of shows in Austin with the goal of bringing music fans closer to the Austin music scene.

The featured bands are providing free tracks to ATX Music Mag for the launch issue. This first issue will include 23 songs providing listeners with over an hour of free music. ATX Music Mag is the first rock magazine in Texas to provide free MP3’s of featured artists in each issue. The premiere issue will feature four local bands, three bands from San Diego, CA, and a band from Las Vegas, NV, providing readers a variety of local and out of town talent.

Each issue will include interviews from world-renowned artists as well. The first issue contains interviews with Tom Gabel and Andrew Seward of Against Me, Greg Alsop of Tokyo Police Club, and Blag Dahlia of The Dwarves.

Also, the print issue and Web site, http://www.ATXMusicMag.com, will include information on a concert featuring the bands covered in the magazine. The bands are scheduled to perform a show beginning at 4pm on Saturday, March 12, 2011 during SXSW (South By Southwest). The ATX Music Mag Kickoff Fest Showcase will be held at Headhunters Club. This will be an unofficial SXSW event.

ATX Music Mag will be distributed at over 50 locations in the Austin area beginning Tuesday, March 8, 2011. Additionally, ATX Music Mag will be distributed to select locations statewide and will also be available as a free download at http://www.ATXMusicMag.com.

Look for the next issue of ATX Music Mag in May 2011 covering new local musicians and concerts taking place in Austin during the months of March and April.
