Amber Portwood

Portwood tells ABC News: "I took 30 Suboxone within three days The depression took over. I'd just take four to five at a time underneath my tongue, and nod out. I had more than addiction problems. I had, you know, mental problems, too."

Explore Talent announced a new blog today, "'Teen Mom' Amber Portwood Chooses Prison Over Rehab." ExploreTalent.com is a social media forum that posts modeling jobs and auditions for actors. The blog explains that in a startling decision, "Teen Mom" Amber Portwood chose prison over rehab, according to US Weekly on 6/7/12. The 22-year-old quit her court-order rehab for an illegal prescription drug charge, according to US Weekly on 6/7/12. Portwood took the drugs, Suboxone, in her attempted suicide, according to US Weekly on 6/7/12.

She tells ABC News: "I took 30 Suboxone within three days The depression took over. I'd just take four to five at a time underneath my tongue, and nod out. I had more than addiction problems. I had, you know, mental problems, too."

Portwood tried to commit suicide once before, in 2011, but her daughter's father, Gary Shirley, called 911, according to US Weekly on 6/7/12.

She says to ABC News: "There's nothing lower than trying to kill yourself. That's why it's probably hard to understand why I did what I did. But when you mentally know that, you're not right. You're 22, and you tried to take your life twice. And you're 22, and you're still here, you don't want to mess that up."

Telling ABC News that she felt like too many eyes were on her in the rehab program, she, instead, chose to serve her five-year prison term, where she plans to do rehab and get her GED.
