Outraged American Declares August 22 'We Are Fed Up Day'

Florida man creates virtual protest to demand policy changes in Washington.

Miami, FL (PRWEB) July 1, 2008 -- With skyrocketing energy prices, a debilitating credit crisis, soaring food costs and an apparent moral breakdown in society, a Florida man has launched a Web site to declare August 22 "We Are Fed Up Day." The purpose is to create unity among Americans who are "fed up" and send a message to politicians in Washington that drastic change is needed to preserve our current way of life.

"We are witnessing a breakdown in just about every area of our lives," says Marco Gonzalez, founder of WeAreFedUpDay.org.

"Unless politicians cross party lines, or at the very least, meet somewhere in the middle on some issues, things are only going to get worse. It's time to put the needs of the American people above those of the special interest groups, no matter what side of the isle their on," he adds.

Promoted as a non-partisan event, We Are Fed Up Day would allow Americans to demand immediate change in policies, particularly as it pertains to energy. The goal is to create a peaceful, virtual community to rally Americans together to make a difference.

"We need volunteers to help spread the word," notes Gonzalez. "Americans need to stop accepting the status quo and do something about the things that are threatening the fabric of our society."

He concluded, "With 2008 being an election year, we need to let our politicians know that we are watching and will hold them accountable. Enough is enough."
