“The benefits of welcoming an au pair into your home reach far beyond safe reliable child care to include exposing children to a different language, culture, and an exciting view of the world,” said Susan Bellew, area director, Au Pair Care.

Au Pair Care, an au pair agency that matches American families with international au pairs, today announced that Susan Bellew, area director in Princeton, New Jersey, has re-joined the team. Susan is responsible for matching international au pairs with local host families in Mercer County, and providing ongoing support to the matched families and au pairs.

“The benefits of welcoming an au pair into your home reach far beyond safe reliable child care to include exposing children to a different language, culture, and an exciting view of the world,” said Susan Bellew, area director, Au Pair Care. “I am pleased to be back with the Au Pair Care team to educate Mercer County families about these benefits while providing continued support to our existing host families.”

Au Pair Care area directors provide education and support to host families and au pairs, create monthly events, conduct in-home interviews with host families, and provide arrival orientation to new au pairs.

Native to New Jersey, Susan is a graduate of La Salle University with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and special education. A mother of three, Susan is a former Au Pair Care host mom and understands the challenges of finding an affordable and reliable child care solution.

"Our talented area directors are passionate about sharing the benefits of au pair child care with their communities," said Heidi Woehl, vice president, Au Pair Care. “Susan’s previous experience with Au Pair Care as a host mom makes her an especially great addition to the team. We’re excited to have her back with our organization."

An au pair is a young adult from another country who lives with a family and provides in-home child care services in exchange for room and board and a weekly stipend. Au pairs work up to 45 hours per week, offering a flexible schedule that can accommodate an individual family’s needs.

Au Pair Care’s standard au pair program offers American families one year of live-in child care. Au Pair Care also offers an infant specialized program and an extension program for families who wish to continue the program past the initial 12 months. The cost of an au pair from Au Pair Care is approximately $350 per week, regardless of the number of children in the family. Au Pair Care’s au pairs are between 18 and 26 years old, have extensive child care experience, speak conversational English, and come from more than 40 different countries.
