"Hiring an au pair is not just about having safe, reliable child care – but also about providing your family the opportunity to learn about another culture," said Stefanie Howe, area director, Au Pair Care.
San Francisco, California (PRWEB) November 28, 2012
Au Pair Care, an au pair agency that matches American families with international au pairs, today announced that Stefanie Howe, a new area director in Westhampton, New York has joined the team. Stefanie is responsible for matching international au pairs with local host families in East Suffolk County, as well as providing ongoing support to the matched families and au pairs.
“I'm delighted to represent Au Pair Care on this part of Long Island,” said Stefanie Howe, area director, Au Pair Care. "Hiring an au pair is not just about having safe, reliable child care – but also about providing your family the opportunity to learn about another culture.”
Au Pair Care area directors provide education and support to host families and au pairs, create monthly events, conduct in-home interviews with host families, and provide arrival orientation to new au pairs.
A New York native, Stefanie became a resident of Westhampton after retiring from corporate sales. Stefanie and her family are passionate about cultural exchange. She selected an au pair program as the child care option for her family, and also hosted a foreign exchange student while her children were in school. Stefanie was a busy working mom and understands the challenges involved with finding a flexible child care option.
“Our enthusiastic and knowledgeable group of area directors will assist parents in selecting the right child care option for their family,” said Heidi Woehl, vice president, Au Pair Care. “Stefanie’s years as a former au pair host mom will make her a strong addition to our team and we are excited for her to share her au pair experiences with families in Suffolk County.”
An au pair is a young adult from another country who lives with a family and provides in-home child care services in exchange for room and board and a weekly stipend. Au pairs work up to 45 hours per week, offering a flexible schedule that can accommodate an individual family’s needs.
Au Pair Care’s standard au pair program offers American families one year of live-in child care. Au Pair Care also offers an infant specialized program and an extension program for families who wish to continue the program past the initial 12 months. The cost of an au pair from Au Pair Care is approximately $350 per week, regardless of the number of children in the family. Au Pair Care’s au pairs are between 18 and 26 years old, have extensive child care experience, speak conversational English, and come from more than 40 different countries.
