Royal Executive Transportation is proud to announce its latest role – a Sustainer Position with the Austin Film Society. As part of its continued support of the Capitol City’s arts community, Royal Executive Transportation congratulates the Society on the upcoming Texas Filmmakers Showcase on Thursday September 6th.

“We’d like to invite the nation to our city for this collection of the best of Texas-made short films,” said Alex Ruiz with Royal Executive Transportation. “There is something for everyone in the 95-minute showcase that consists of seven projects representing the creative, bold filmmaking that comes from Texas.”

Here’s what patrons can expect at the latest Showcase:

  •     CINNAMON

Directed by Timothy Edwards (Austin, TX)
Theodore must grant his grandfather's last wish the night before his grandmother's funeral. Single for the first time in sixty-five years, the old man wants the company of a young woman.

Jaris lost his black mom and is being raised by his emotionally distant white dad. When he travels to the Deep South to be with his dying Grandma, he may lose the one person who still cares about him.

Directed by Will Shipley (San Antonio, TX)
A young boy (Maurico) gets himself in over his head when he claims to have seen Maricela, the most beautiful girl in a small Mexican town, naked. Now he has to prove it to his peers or be beaten up for being a liar. This is a coming of age period piece completely in Spanish.

Directed by Kelly Sears (Galveston, TX)
An animated horror film constructed from the candid photos on handwritten messages from discarded high school yearbooks.

Directed by Chris Spisak (Houston, TX)
Having been dragged in for questioning after a physical altercation with his girlfriend, Sebastian Kelly soon finds that more is riding on his answers than he possibly could have imagined.

  •     THE WHALE

  •     Z AND BEAU

A couple on the lam avoids traditional society until a mysterious stranger appears and ruins everything.

“We’d like to be part of your night of entertainment,” Ruiz added. “Our team of chauffeurs are expertly professional and accommodating. We want to make the beginning and end of the evening just as memorable for our clients as the great cinema they will witness.”
