It is about connecting with yourself as well as others and learning that great artists were/are just people, too
CAMPBELL, Calif. (PRWEB) June 27, 2013
Author Marianne Bickett draws on her experiences as an elementary school art teacher to write fiction that reminds readers of the magic in everyday life, and “Leonardo and the Amazing Art Cart: Art Cart Tales” (published by Trafford Publishing) marks the first installment of a planned series. A new book intended for ages 10 through adult!
The Art Cart Tales series follows the adventures of Kala, an inquisitive fifth-grader, and Ms. Fitt, her enigmatic art teacher. “Leonardo and the Amazing Art Cart” introduces the two characters and Kala narrates the story, taking readers with her as she adjusts to a new life following the death of her mother.
Kala meets Ms. Fitt when her father, Marco, moves the family in the hopes of making a fresh start. It’s not long before Ms. Fitt is introducing Kala to all sorts of new things. They encounter Leonardo da Vinci throughout various stages of his life, and Bickett cleverly combines an entertaining tale with information about various artists, including Elisabetta Sirani, a female artist from the Baroque period.
“The book is about loss, letting go, and moving on through discovery and the willingness to face one’s fears through the eyes of Kala,” Bickett writes. “It is about connecting with yourself as well as others and learning that great artists were/are just people, too.”
