The overall theme is for my students to jump on the ‘Education Success Express, and overcome their fear of math
(PRWEB) June 03, 2013
For most people, the words fun and algebra are mutually exclusive. Not true for author Y. S. Eastwood. “My book is fun. My book is simple to understand. My book is easy to understand.”
The book in question is her newest, “Algebra Fundamentals for Ultrasound Techs: A Student’s Guide” (published by iUniverse). In the book, Eastwood, a longtime teacher, provides students studying to become ultrasound technologists and ultrasound technicians with clear explanations and analysis to help them land their dream job.
Eastwood was inspired to write “Algebra Fundamentals for Ultrasound Techs” by her brother, who urged his sis to reach more students with her proven abilities to teach math to even the most math-phobic of pupils.
“These students were having difficulty passing the physics part of the state examination for licensure, because their math background was inadequate,” remembers Eastwood. “Their math background was inadequate because somewhere along the line, they became convinced that they did not understand math and never would. When I wrote this book, I decided to focus on logic and to allow student s to be relaxed and have fun when doing math.”
“Algebra Fundamentals for Ultrasound Techs” includes practice problems, easy-to-follow explanations, answer keys and a glossary defining key terms.
“The overall theme is for my students to jump on the ‘Education Success Express,’” coins Eastwood, “and overcome their fear of math.”
