In the first of six books in this continuing-world series, Johnston introduces readers to the Chimera; an ancient race that was cursed by the gods and forced to wander the world alone, searching for their mate for life. Set in the beautiful, lush forests of the Pacific Northwest, Transition is the story of Shelby, a college sophomore with an unusual background.
A home-schooled only child who has travelled the world, Shelby attends college at Washing State University. While there, she begins to have dreams of a strange, intriguing man, one she’s never met, but instantly knows. When a series of bizarre events lead her straight to him, she must figure out how to reconcile the world she thought she knew with the newfound truth of her existence. Having only her intense passion for the man from her dreams to go on, Shelby must navigate her way through the dangerous and intriguing world of the Chimera and find in it a place where she belongs.
Having spent ten years creating and perfecting her characters and the spectacular world they live in, Johnston’s writing is unique and invites readers in to a fascinating fantasy world. With a refreshing and much-needed twist on the young adult para-romance, readers will find them turning pages furiously to reach the conclusion, and will look forward anxiously to the next installment of this incredible new series.
