A November 2012 consumer survey conducted by Einsteinsurance finds some interesting trends related to how different demographic segments prefer to conduct business with auto insurance agents when meeting them for the first time.

The survey, conducted by Einsteinsurance with Google Consumer Surveys, asked a random sample of 1,000 Internet users "How would you prefer to communicate with an auto insurance agent you are meeting for the first time?"

After analyzing the survey results, some interesting trends were uncovered. Overall, the majority of overall respondents (45%) indicated that they prefer to visit with an agent in person when meeting them for the first time and discussing their auto insurance questions.

The findings indicate that age plays a big role in determining the method of contact preferred by consumers - showing the younger consumer segments opting for more e-mail and phone contact.

The results also indicate that consumers that have a higher annual household income care less about meeting an agent in person for the first time and are more comfortable conducting business via the insurance agent's website, by e-mail or over the phone.

Einsteinsurance has created an interactive infographic that breaks down the survey findings into deeper segments. Learn more about these findings and interact with the data by viewing the survey infographic at: http://www.einsteinsurance.com/insights/how-consumers-interact-with-agents
