Irmo, SC (PRWEB) February 15, 2013
At the start of his seventh year racing in NASCAR, Danny Efland is looking forward to the season opener at Daytona International Speedway, February 23. Efland left the 2012 season with invaluable experience, plans for improvements, and a career best 13th place finish at last year’s DRIVE4COPD 300 at Daytona. His goal at this year’s race is a top ten finish to get geared up for his longest scheduled season to date.
Efland has fond memories of his Daytona experiences, “This will be my sixth time racing at Daytona. I never dreamed we’d get to this point. It’s very exciting.” During last year’s DRIVE4COPD 300, Efland and his team took a 25-30th place car and finished 13th, beating out big names like Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kyle Busch.
Overall, Efland feels prepared to improve on last year’s finish. “My team has definitely grown from last season. We’ve grown in terms of consistency and cooperation,” Efland said. “It takes a good game plan, attrition, and a little luck to finish well at Daytona. My goal is a top ten at this year’s race.”
This season, Efland will be racing consistently with twenty-seven races scheduled; the most he’s had in one season. He hopes to continue to become more competitive on the track, but also continually exceed the expectations of sponsors. “We have made many improvements to JD Motorsports structure, equipment, personal, and marketing capabilities. We have more to offer to our sponsors than ever before,” Danny said.
Danny Efland is a NASCAR driver who races for JD Motorsports in the Nationwide Series. He has also competed in the Camping World Truck Series and the USAR Pro Cup Series. He graduated with honors from Dutch Fork High School and graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in engineering.
