If a pink car cover and green in the form of a $150 VISA card motivates women to get a mammogram, we may have saved a life and Pink and Green will have been a success.

Last Saturday, the host of nationally syndicated car-talk program “Bobby Likis Car Clinic,” Bobby Likis interviewed spokesmen from Kimberly-Clark and Covercraft Industries in support of “Covers for Causes” and to spotlight the collaborative “Pink & Green” Sweepstakes, both focused on heightened breast cancer awareness.

The idea of a pink car cover in recognition of the role that women play in the automotive industry sprang of Marty Lichtmann, President and Chief Operating Officer of Covercraft Industries. The “Covers for Causes” program – which donates a portion of profits from sales of car covers sewn with the pink line of NOAH® Block-It® fabric by Kimberly-Clark and UVS100™ Windshield Heat Shield to breast cancer research – is just a natural follow-on.

Says Lichtmann, “Almost everyone I know has been touched by cancer, or knows of someone who has had to battle this horrific disease. Research has made great strides, but needs much more support in the effort to find a cure.”

Tony Fedel, Associate Marketing Director for Kimberly-Clark Professional Partnership Products, which company produces the Block-It® line of car cover fabrics, including the pink NOAH®, reflects, “We’re so pleased to be involved with Covercraft’s Covers for Causes. It’s a great way to show support for women in general and for this important cause.”

The “Pink & Green” Sweepstakes was inspired by Likis, whose wife died from breast cancer and whose daughter underwent a successful mastectomy and reconstruction. Likis sums it up, “If a pink car cover and green in the form of a $150 VISA card motivates women to schedule a mammogram, we may have saved a life, and Pink & Green will have been a success.”

Likis will award two prize packages, each with a car or truck cover custom sewn by Covercraft using pink NOAH® fabric - from Kimberly-Clark and Covercraft - and a $150 VISA card – compliments of Likis.
