Autotask Corporation, the leading provider of cloud-based IT business management software for the channel, announced today a new partnership agreement with 6fusion, the leading provider of 100% channel focused, utility metered Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platforms and services. Under the agreement, 6fusion will integrate its UC6 cloud computing platform with the Autotask Professional Services Automation (PSA) platform. The integration, which will be deployed in stages beginning later this month, is will link the 6fusion cloud infrastructure directly into critical back-office administrative operations managed through Autotask. The combined offerings will simplify back office operations, streamline billing processes and deliver more scalability for managed service providers who want to adopt cloud-based Infrastructure-as-a-Service.

6fusion will formally unveil the integration at the upcoming Autotask Community Live event May 22, 2011 in Miami Florida.

“We are excited to be adding 6fusion’s cloud infrastructure to our portfolio of integrated solutions,” said Autotask Corporation CEO Mark Cattini. “With the integration offered by 6fusion, solution providers can now, for the first time, seamlessly integrate Infrastructure-as-a-Service as part of their managed services portfolio.”

The first phase of the integration will include the ability to link customer accounts between UC6 and Autotask, export information about UC6 hosted infrastructure to Autotask, and upload utility meter readings to simplify and expedite monthly billing for Infrastructure-as-a-Service offerings.

The feeding of data into Autotask from the cloud hosted infrastructure -- including virtual firewalls, servers and other infrastructure – will allow these system to be tracked, managed, serviced and controlled in the same fashion as other physical infrastructure. This allows MSPs to standardize their operational processes and drive additional profit from their customer engagements.

Integrating the meter readings of 6fusion with the automated invoice capabilities of Autotask, will greatly simplify the process of billing customers. This allows the Infrastructure-as-a-Service billing cycle to be standardized and combined with the regular billing of monthly recurring service contracts. The impact of this simplified process is lower cost to the service provider, fewer billing errors, and increased scalability and profitability.

“One of the keys to building a profitable services business is to drive cost out of your processes and operations,” said Rob Bissett, VP of Product Management for 6fusion. “With this partnership 6fusion and Autotask will not only help managed service providers to adopt Infrastructure-as-a-Service, but also to make managing it even more profitable.”

About 6fusion

6fusion’s UC6 Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform provides an end-to-end cloud management platform for public, private and hybrid clouds, viewable in a single console. Users can choose the actual data center that houses their workloads, overcoming many of the concerns about using the cloud. And unlike many 'cloud plays’ in the market, 6fusion's iNode Network is not limited by any one type of application architecture, format or operating system. The biggest differentiator is 6fusion’s unique metering algorithm – the Workload Allocation Cube (WAC) – which turns the cloud into a pay-per-use billable utility and provides valuable insight into consumption and cost performance.
