Internet advertising award site, http://www.ibuzzawards.com, has opened its pages for national competition enrollment. With the launch, the company has announced the official “call for entries” for the first annual “Q3 Rich Media” awards.

The Web site’s development evolved after numerous discussions within the internet media community regarding the need for an award organization exclusively focused on internet advertising awards. iBuzz Awards has created over 20 different categories of online advertising formats for competitors to choose from.

There will be four online advertising competitions throughout the year coinciding with each calendar quarter: “Q1 Interactive Awards”, “Q2 Entertainment Awards”, “Q3 Rich Media Awards”, and “Q4 Retail Awards”. Applicability for each submission will be determined based on the current award competition description as well as the categories available for the event.

Doug McFarland, General Manager, North America for Eyeblaster, Inc. and sponsor of the iBuzz Award program, said, "Eyeblaster is a leader in online marketing, offering the best unified platforms, services and training to enable advertisers to bring their brands to life with digital impact and engagement. As a champion of excellence in online advertising, Eyeblaster joins with iBuzz to recognize the creative trailblazers responsible for Internet marketing excellence -- and encourages continual innovation of media design and superior tactical execution."

“Our goal is finding excellence in online advertising”, says Stephanie Rorick, the site’s founder and online media manager, “iBuzz Awards categorizes all online formats and allows entries to compete within those categories, not simply against other companies in their industry alone.”

Additional comments were made by other individuals in the online advertising community. AJ Vernet, founder of Las Vegas Interactive Marketing Association said, “There are a ton of internet advertising formats out there, they’ve gone way beyond video and flash animation. This competition offers virtually every internet ad creative a category of its own.”
