This tour is a unique glimpse into life in Thailand that very few short-term visitors are able to see. It’s a true insider-experience allowing visitors who just spend a few days in Thailand to quickly grasp an understanding of Thai life.
Bangkok, Thailand (PRWEB) December 06, 2012
The three night / four day ‘Life in a Thai House’ package features a unique stay in an enchanting golden teakwood house set in the relaxing countryside just outside Thailand’s bustling capital city, Bangkok. After transfer from the airport to Nonthaburi, guests are free to spend the first day relaxing and taking in the surroundings of the local area while enjoying the luxuries of the decadent house and garden. A homemade feast will be served in the evening to welcome the guests and tantalize their taste buds in preparation for the following day’s cooking class.
After breakfast on day two, guests will be taken to visit a local open-air market to purchase fresh herbs, spices and vegetables which will be used in the cooking class. Backyard Travel’s English-speaking Thai cook will then introduce the travelers to the best-kept secrets of Thai cuisine. The class teaches guests to cook several of the Land of Smiles’ most famous dishes, including Larb Moo (spicy pork salad), Tom Yam Kung (hot and sour shrimp soup), Pad Thai (Thai-style fried noodles), Geang Ka-ri Gai (yellow chicken curry) and Paneang Ngua (coconut beef curry). After the fun experience of learning the art of cooking, the master chefs can then savor the flavors as they sit down to devour their delicious creations.
On day three, guests will once again be treated to a homemade breakfast at the house, and then be taken on a long-tail boat ride through the klongs (canals) to Bangkok’s Chinatown. Backyard Travel’s guide will escort travelers on a tour through Talad Kao (Old Market) to see the sights and sounds of the popular market in one of the biggest Chinatown’s in the world. The journey also includes a visit to a textile market at Pahurat and a visit to the ‘Old Thieves’ market. A delicious dim sum lunch will then be taken at a carefully selected local restaurant before visiting the Bangkok folk museum and then finally returning to the traditional Thai house.
On the last day, guests are free to spend their time at their leisure before being driven back to the airport for a hassle-free departure from Thailand.
“This tour is a unique glimpse into life in Thailand that very few short-term visitors are able to see,” said Backyard Travel’s General Manager Maeve Nolan. “As with all Backyard Travel’s tours, the ‘Life in a Thai House’ package is fully customizable and can be tailored to each individual traveler’s needs.
