When I found out I had won, it was a wonderful surprise. I felt like my prayers had been answered. Saving hundreds of pounds a year will make an enormous difference to my life.
Manchester, UK (PRWEB UK) 17 August 2012
In May 2012, Baines and Ernst – a specialist debt management company in Manchester, held their very first Free Prize Draw. The prize was of to £8,000 to pay off unsecured debts was the first of its kind offered by the company – a move deemed quite controversial within the financial sector.
The aim, the company always said, was to help someone clear a substantial amount of debt, while promoting the various types of debt help services available to people in financial difficulty.
When the Free Prize Draw was launched in May for six weeks, the External Affairs Director was quoted as saying: “In recent years we have seen a surge in people needing debt help because their circumstances have changed so drastically as a result of the recession. Job losses, extended periods of unemployment and the rising cost of living continue to take a toll on families.
“We often speak to people who think the only solution available to them is Bankruptcy, but what this competition will help us do is raise awareness about the other type of services available. By highlighting these solutions [Debt Management Plans, IVAs and Debt Relief Orders] we hope that we can help people get out of debt long before Bankruptcy is the only option.”
Entrants were invited to complete a short form on the company’s website and Facebook page to enter the Free Prize Draw, which was drawn at random on 6th July.
And the result?
The winner of The Baines & Ernst Free Prize Draw was a very lucky lady called Maureen Harrison, from Wolverhampton.
“The Free Prize Draw was incredibly popular and we had a substantial amount of entrants. We were absolutely delighted when Maureen won and were delighted when we realised that we could help her clear all of her debts once we received the paper work.” said a Baines and Ernst spokesperson.
Mrs Harrison said: “When I found out I had won, it was a wonderful surprise. I felt like my prayers had been answered. I feel relieved to know that any money I earn now is truly mine.
“If I had one piece of advice for anyone, it would be to never borrow – I’ll be sticking to that advice in the future!”
When asked what difference winning has made to her life and if it would positively enhance her future, Mrs Harrison said: “Saving hundreds of pound a year will make an enormous difference to my life. I want to say thank you for all that this has meant to me, it has truly been a blessing. I am very, very grateful.”
If anyone requires help with debt problems, Baines and Ernst is available to offer advice on all solutions available.
