Join Allegro as they celebrate their 17th Anniversary

Allegro, Bay Area ballroom dancing has operated as a ballroom and dance school for 17 years. On September 23, 1994, the State of California granted Allegro Dancers, Inc. a 501(c) 3 non-profit status with license to do business as “Allegro Ballroom”, and they have been actively serving our members and community ever since. Allegro has grown to almost 800 members and can now boast a total dance floor area of 20,000 sq. feet. Dedicated to dance education and supporting local, as well as some international communities, Allegro has raised and donated more than $325,000 to charitable causes over the years.

Allegro’s upcoming 17th Anniversary will be one to truly celebrate, as it coincides with the long-awaited re-opening of its beautiful “Grand Ballroom”. The addition of 10,000 square feet of dance floor space opens the door to many possibilities, and many new programs are in store. To share the excitement Allegro Ballroom invites all to join them for a blowout celebration on Saturday, September 17.

Tom Davis will return as the ever-popular Anniversary emcee. To demonstrate a sampling of the diverse dance classes offered at Allegro, they will feature a “carousel” of classes being held in different ballrooms, in succession, allowing everyone to attend all three: Waltz with Jeff Chandler assisted by Lucy Yoo; Salsa class with Viola, and Argentine Tango class with Nora & Ed.

Don’t miss this festive event with 3 different parties going on throughout the evening – Ballroom Dancing in the Main Ballroom, Salsa in the Jr. Ballroom, and Argentine Tango in the Grand Ballroom! Refreshments will be offered in the Grand Ballroom from 8:30 – 11:00 p.m.

Doors open at 7:00 p.m., and classes begin with Waltz in the Main Ballroom from 7:30 – 8:15 p.m. Guest can stay behind and practice what they learned, or move on to Salsa in the Junior Ballroom from 8:30 – 9:15 p.m. Allegro will wrap up the classes with Argentine Tango in the Grand Ballroom from 9:30 – 10:15 p.m., and party until midnight.

At 10:30, there will be a special presentation of a check for $17,000 to the Bay Area Chapter of the American Red Cross representing money raised during our May, “Dancing for Japan” fundraising campaign to help Japan with its Earthquake and Tsunami relief efforts.

Advance tickets are $15 members / $20 non-members. Any remaining tickets will be available at the door for $20 members / $25 non-members. Ticket prices include admission to all 3 classes and parties, refreshments, general dancing, and a chance to win a fabulous door prize.

About Allegro Ballroom
Allegro Ballroom is organized as a non-profit, public-benefit educational corporation [501(c)3] registered as Allegro Dancers, Inc. For the past 17 years, our successful operation has been largely due to the dedication and support of approximately 100 "regular" Allegro members who pitch in to organize special events, staff the front desk, volunteer as DJs for our parties, and serve on an elected Board of Directors. Allegro has also contracted with a small management company to oversee the day-to-day operational details of running the ballroom.
