Ballyhoo Commerce is a lightweight yet powerful e-commerce system designed as a more intuitive alternative to bulky big name e-commerce systems. Ballyhoo Commerce is intended to help online retailers make the most of selling online with minimal training and technical knowledge, enabling them to focus on the daily running of their business with the knowledge that their business' online presence is taken care of.

Dubbed Ballyhoo Commerce due to its mission to effortlessly promote products, this system has been developed exclusively by Birmingham web design agency Ballyhoo Ltd who offer the system at a competitive price as part of their web design services.

While no new features as such are included in Ballyhoo Commerce Version 1.9.20, it is considered a major new version of the e-commerce system due to important improvements made to existing features.

  • Text-editing: The component used to power the text-editing features of Ballyhoo Commerce (enabling users to customise product descriptions and page content) has been upgraded to the latest version available. This brings improved ease-of-use, a spell-checking facility and streamlined formatting tools making it more simple than ever to create engaging and well-formatted website content.
  • Price Comparison Feeds: Simple price comparison integration has been a valuable string to Ballyhoo Commerce's bow for some years now. The feeds used to power these integrations have now been vastly improved to use Google Analytics URLs which will give the site owner a much bigger range of information about visits to their website. A shopping feed for Become.com has also been introduced and the feed for Shopzilla can now be automatically collected.
  • Manufacturer Search Results: Customers using the auto-complete search facility in Ballyhoo Commerce will now also be presented with the names of manufacturers in stock on the site to better help them narrow their product selection and increase the speed with which they can do this.
  • Saved Orders: Vendors can now specify how long they wish saved orders to be valid for. Automated reminder emails will also be sent to customers at set intervals, e.g. 30 days/7 days/1 day left, to remind them that their saved order is due to expire, keeping them conscious that they only have a limited time left to resume their order without a potential increase in cost.

A number of bug fixes and minor improvements have also been made to the system to improve performance and reliability.
