Plyboo bamboo flooring has been popular with design professionals and homeowners for years due to its good looks and green credentials including formaldehyde-free and FSC certification. In a concerted effort to make FSC certified and formaldehyde-free flooring more accessible to a wider audience, Smith & Fong Co., the manufacturer’s of Plyboo, now offers all their bamboo flooring options online to purchase with PlybooDirect.

“PlybooDirect is the e-commerce side of Smith & Fong and is accessed through the main page on Plyboo.com”, said Dan Smith, President and Founder of Smith & Fong Company. “It was important for us to get these Sustainable and air-friendly products directly to our retail based clients. E-commerce was the way to go”, he said.

“Once on the PlybooDirect site, visitors will have full access to the Plyboo bamboo flooring, Durapalm palm flooring, and Sideways hardwood flooring lines along with all associated floor trim accessories. The site is easy to use and it’s possible to place an order 24/7,” said Nicole Franklin, Marketing and Media Coordinator for Smith & Fong. “Flooring can still be ordered through distributor and wholesale channels as well, but with unlimited browsing and purchasing options this expands access and convenience to a larger audience,” she said.

Smith & Fong Co. has pushed boundaries for decades through innovation and environmentalism. The company introduced its urea formaldehyde-free, PlybooPure, line in 2007, in an effort to make a difference in improving indoor air quality and encouraging greener building solutions in the flooring industry. The company went a step further the following year introducing FSC Certified bamboo products in the Spring of 2008.

“It’s now so much easier to incorporate flooring that embodies sustainability and forestry ethics,” says Nicole. “I get excited when I see our products in commercial and residential environments; it is really amazing for me to see more people making the right choices. With greater online access through PlybooDirect, I hope our products will increasingly be a part of that choice.”
