In September, last year Barceló took over the management operations of Paramount Hotels' 20 UK properties, which range from established country house hotels to contemporary venues in city centres and coastal resorts. Barceló's Premium Hotels include some of Britain's most historic houses such as the 17th Century Lygon Arms in the Cotswolds, Cheshire's Shrigley Hall Hotel and Country Club, the Elizabethan Billesley Manor Hotel in Stratford-Upon-Avon and the Troon Marine Hotel in Scotland.

Current refurbishment plans are proceeding under Barceló management and the group aims to manage a total of 40 hotels in the UK within three years.
