Kid to Kid and Uptown Cheapskate, trademark brands of BaseCamp Franchising, are preparing for this year’s annual meeting to be held aboard a luxury Royal Caribbean cruise ship January 27th thru February 1st.

Over 100 franchise owners from store locations all over the United States and Portugal will embark on a five-day cruise making stops in Haiti and Jamaica. During the meeting, owners will be able to choose from a variety of training sessions presented by the BaseCamp Franchising staff. Topics include how to train and manage merchandise buyers, best ways to maximize profits, upcoming trends and fashions and how to effectively market on a budget. In addition to training, franchise owners will have the opportunity to hear from industry expert speakers Mel Kleiman and Ted Manley.

Guest speaker Mel Kleiman will provide training on how to improve profits through hiring the best people and following franchise systems. Mel Kleiman is a world-renowned Certified Speaking Professional and authority on recruiting, selecting and hiring employees. He is an author of five books including the best seller “Hire Tough, Manage Easy.” Mr Kleiman is also a former owner of three businesses including the largest group of Hertz Rent-a-Car franchise locations.

Resale industry expert Ted Manley will present an in-depth overview of the resale marketplace and the exciting outlook of the resale industry’s future. Mr. Manley is a long-time retail professional with over 20 years of franchise experience. As former president of Grow Biz International, original parent company of Once Upon A Child and Plato’s Closet, Mr. Manley was able to exponentially increase the number of stores and dramatically improve profits.

“Our Owner’s Conference provides a great opportunity to learn and improve together,” said Shauna Sloan, Founder of Kid to Kid. “We just opened our 100th Kid to Kid store, and Uptown Cheapskate is growing rapidly. The success of our brands truly depends upon our dedicated store owners and staff members. The learning and networking on the ship will enable our owners to do an even better job of meeting the needs of families in their communities.”
