BASIC Spine, a national leader in spinal and chronic pain issues, is proud to announce the opening of a 12,000 square foot facility in Newport Beach in late February 2013. It is a clinic that will bring the best of BASIC Spine to even more citizens of southern California, and it will further their mission to provide the best in cutting edge spinal and pain care.

Head neurosurgeon, Dr. G. "Ty" Thaiyananthan, is particularly excited about the opening of this branch. “We are dedicated to serving the southern California area, and this office in Newport Beach gives us the perfect opportunity to help as many people as possible. I am excited by the possibility of making definitive spinal care accessible to a wide range of patients.”

The facility intends to focus on a multi-disciplinary approach. In addition to Dr. Ty, two other world-class spinal surgeons will be on hand to assist patients who need spinal surgery for their conditions, such as disc herniation, spinal stenosis, and scoliosis. Experts in minimally invasive procedures, these surgeons are nationally recognized as among the best in their field.

The new clinic will also offer chiropractic care and physical therapy. “Our practice philosophy is to use the least invasive methods first,” Dr. Ty states. “We stress the importance of physical therapy and good chiropractic care before we take a patient to surgery. This new clinic will carry on that tradition.”

Our on staff chiropractor, Dr. William Leach, explains, “Chiropractic can sometimes take away the symptoms of a multitude of back problems. Whether you need an adjustment or to learn a few exercises, chiropractic has saved many patients from the hardship of surgery. I look forward to helping people in the Newport Beach area.”

In addition to spinal care, BASIC Spine is also known for its dedication to pain management services. They have on staff Dr. Sheba Jilani who is a physician specializing in pain management. At the new clinic, she can help the citizens of Newport Beach with chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia, arthritis, and peripheral neuropathy using the latest techniques. In addition to various types of pain medication, Dr. Jilani is an expert in pain injections and interventions.

“I see quite a few patients with chronic pain, and we can usually get them to feeling their best in a short time,” Dr. Jilani relates. “I am excited by the prospect of bringing excellent pain management care to an underserved area of southern California.”

The physicians and professionals at BASIC Spine are eager to bring their services to Newport Beach, in addition to their locations in Orange, Whittier, Chino Hills, and Irvine. They have been providing exemplary back, neck, and chronic pain car e to the residents of these areas, and they look forward to growth in the future.

“This new office in Newport Beach is merely a first step for us,” Dr. Ty confides. “We hope to expand to future offices in other parts of southern California so that we can help as many people as possible. We are dedicated to the future of providing excellent spinal and chronic pain care to the region.”
