Bauman Rare Books, the country’s premier rare and antiquarian bookseller with galleries on Madison Avenue in NYC, at City Center in Philadelphia and at The Shoppes at The Palazzo in Las Vegas, announces the launch of its new iPad application. With the app, users can search Bauman’s vast inventory of rare books and autographs, see new acquisitions, browse catalogues, view videos, make purchases and manage their personal accounts, and share items via Twitter and Facebook.
Available at iTunes, the new app encourages engagement between the user and Bauman’s extensive collections. “It’s the perfect tool for our customers to search or browse our inventory and manage their accounts, anywhere, anytime,” said David Bauman, Bauman Rare Books proprietor and founder. “We designed our app to make each user’s experience easy and intuitive. It’s the next best thing to personally visiting one of our galleries.”
Bauman Rare Books offers landmark books and first editions through its upscale retail galleries in New York, Philadelphia and Las Vegas and its large, interactive website. Bauman has an active online presence, and now, with the launch of its new iPad app—the first by a rare book dealer—Bauman is further expanding the opportunity to experience rare books. Bauman also plans to extend the app to Android and Windows Mobile users.
“As with everything we do online, the key is making it as easy as possible for our customers to do what they want to do. More and more are opting for digital versions of our catalogues and accessing our website via mobile devices in an effort to see as much of our unique inventory as possible. The iPad lends itself nicely to that experience,” said Paul Fleming, Bauman’s web director.
The iPad app is now available from the Bauman Rare Books website or from iTunes.
