Recently, Baylor Vision doctors organized, moderated, and taught extensively at the Ophthalmic Symposium, which was given in San Antonio, Texas in August 2009. Attendees included over 170 ophthalmologists and over 230 ophthalmic technicians. The meeting organizers were Dr. Douglas D. Koch, M.D. and Dr. Mitchell P. Weikert, M.D.
Dr. Weikert talked about pearls and the use of the excimer laser and how to maximize the accuracy of the correction and the quality of vision in patients undergoing both LASIK and PRK. Dr. Elizabeth Yeu talked about the indications of PRK versus LASIK and provided important pearls about selecting the ideal patients for each procedure.
