Digital Sports Group today announced that The PFA profile for the professional footballer Benoit Assou-Ekotto has been been updated. The PFA player profiles provide a unique and unrivalled insight into a professional footballers career with full career stats, news biographies and features.

An accomplished left back who joined Tottenham Hotspur from RC Lens in June 2006.

Benoit took a while to establish himself as first choice in the team at White Hart Lane, and spent most of the 2007-08 season out through injury. Since then he has truly shone and made the position his own. Benoit reads the game well, tackles cleanly, and often comes out with the ball, thinking before sending a well-placed pass down the line or to an advancing player.

He has linked up well with Gareth Bale down the left and in 2011-12 he was a near ever-present in Barclays Premier League matches, only missing out due to injury at the end of the campaign.

A highlight came in January when his superbly struck long-range effort contributed to the 2-0 win over Everton. Benoit is a full international for Cameroon.

Head of Operations at DSG, Matthew Tait had this to say, “Benoit Assou-Ekotto is a fantastic player and we have been working hard to provide the most fantastic resource that is both enjoyable to use and useful. Working with the PFA provides unique biographical information and insights that can be found nowhere else online. We are proud of our partnership with the Professional Footballers Association and the unrivalled access this provides us to the players.”

DSG became the official digital partner of the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) earlier this year and have since launched a number of Player profile fan pages on social media site Facebook as well as providing official player pages on their football news site football.co.uk.
