“I want readers to take with them the spirit of hope,” Glenn says. “I want them to see caregiving as a joy and not a burden. I want this book to draw them closer to other Caregivers and for them to see themselves through the pages.”

Written by a caregiver for caregivers, “Behind Every Dark Cloud: A Caregiver's Heart” (published by AuthorHouse) is author Bernita A Glenn’s new self-help guide for caregivers everywhere. “This book gives a new perspective to the meaning of Caregiver and invites the reader to see themselves not only as a person who renders care to a loved one, but also one who has been chosen for the purpose of caring for God’s disabled,” says Glenn.

Glenn presents readers with a new way to look at and approach the challenges of being a caregiver, a job she says is “full of anxiety and heartache with little or no time given to the caregiver.” It is her hope that this book will inspire and reassure caregivers who have become overburdened and overwhelmed with their situation. Each chapter has been carefully laid out and chosen in a way to, as she says, alleviate the guilt associated with providing care, strengthen the mind, body and spirit and give insight to anyone new to the caretaker profession.

An excerpt from “Behind Every Dark Cloud”:

“There is an awesome joy that comes from serving others. Look at your situation and imagine for a moment what God would say about your role as a Caregiver. Ephesians 2:10 provides us with a wise understanding: ‘For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.’ We have been chosen and groomed from the beginning for our role as Caregivers. This implies that God has prepared us, while we were yet in our mother’s womb, and has now placed us in a position to do His will – providing care to His people. God knew well in advance that our support would be important in the lives of others so He prepared us and sent us to fulfill His mission. We are His chosen few. It was all in His marvelous plan.”

“I want readers to take with them the spirit of hope,” Glenn says. “I want them to see caregiving as a joy and not a burden. I want this book to draw them closer to other Caregivers and for them to see themselves through the pages.”
