A business can get the most value out of their account by tweeting once per hour for a total of 25 times per day
Houston, TX (PRWEB) January 25, 2012
The social media marketing agency, SocialMediadd, recently posted the statistics of a Hubspot study on the best times and days to schedule Twitter tweets and Facebook updates on.
For Twitter, the study revealed that the highest percentage of retweets occurred between the hours of 3pm and 6pm. The peak time was 5pm. The morning period of 6am to 10am had the lowest percentage of retweets. The stats show that people tend to just browse through tweets in the morning and take more action in the late afternoon leading into the evening. The click through ratio for tweets with links was also reviewed in this study. The results showed that 5pm was also one of the two peak times with the best click through ratio.
For businesses that tweet multiple times per day, the research looked at what is the optimal amount of tweets per day and per hour. The click through rate results showed that a business can get the most value out of their account by tweeting about once per hour for a total of 25 times per day.
The Facebook statistics showed that the highest percentage of shares occur on the weekends. This correlates with people having more time to spend catching up reading their Facebook updates on the weekends. Saturday had the highest ratio, with a ten times greater share rate than any weekday. When looking at the hours of each day, the peak share time was 11am. In contrast to Twitter, the ideal frequency of status updates for businesses with a Facebook page was about four updates per week.
