Alpine Adventures in Lincoln, NH, has been selected “Best Zipline” by the readers of New Hampshire Magazine in the 10th annual “2011 Best of NH” awards. Although Alpine Adventures has won a Best of NH award in the past (as best “Legal High” by the editors), this is the first year the best Zipline category has been offered.
“We are extremely honored to be named best zipline,” said Randy Farwell, Owner of the outdoor adventure company that built the first zipline canopy tour in New England in 2006 and has continued to lead the way in the industry ever since. “Our focus has always been to continue to expand our tours and offer new attractions each year, and I think this is why we have such loyal guests that come back again and again...and bring their friends.”
The company that started as a guided snowmobile tour outfit back in 1997 made a conscious decision in 2003 to create unique tours that nobody else in the area was offering and since then they haven't looked back. While they still offer their guided snowmobile tours in the winter, they have also added the first “Off Road Safari” Tours in the northeast, the first, longest, highest and fastest Zipline tours, the first “Powerfan” free-fall device in the United States (think bungee jump without the bounce at the end) and an overwhelming sense of “fun” in everything they do.
“Basically, we just want people to come up here to the beautiful White Mountains of NH and have a great time,” continues Farwell. “It's not just the ziplines themselves, our guides and staff are a big part of the experience on all of our tours, and our guests sense that. I think that is why they named us the top zipline”
In 2011 the new attractions keep coming with a major expansion of the “Thrillsville” aerial adventure park & challenge course that opened last year, more ziplines which will add a third course to the mix, a giant swing, bungee trampoline and expansion to their headquarters on Main Street in Lincoln, which is now three separate buildings that look as if they are being taken over by the massive jungle gym that is Thrillsville.
“We are excited to see how our guests like the new tours and attractions this year, hopefully they will allow us to defend our title in 2012...when we'll have more fun stuff up our sleeves.”
Alpine Adventures Outdoor Recreation, LLC., started in 1997 and is a family run and oriented business, offering snowmobile, off-road and zipline canopy tours. The owners, Randall & Kerry Farwell are originally from Brookline, NH.
