In the first six months of this year over 80% of events we have recorded have been streamed live
London, UK (PRWEB UK) 5 July 2012
A substantial increase in enquiries for live streaming to the web and mobile devices has been noted by BeThere Global, experts in conference and event recording and streaming. Conference organisers and event planners are working harder to keep attendances up as budgets are squeezed and budget control moves further up the hierarchy. This, combined with an increasing demand for ROI, is leading more businesses and associations to invest in live streaming their events to engage a remote audience online.
BeThere Global CEO Martin Shepherdly explains: “In the first six months of this year over 80% of events we have recorded have been streamed live, as clients embrace the fact that they can increase the value of their presentation content by taking it beyond the physical audience and interacting live with a much wider – potentially global – audience.”
With the experience of streaming over 200 conferences and presentations the BeThere Global team has developed high quality and cost effective streaming solutions, offering an end-to-end service that has been welcomed by their clients. This was demonstrated recently when they were asked to stream a concert live for Peace One Day, a not-for-profit organisation. When the television broadcast of the concert didn’t materialise, Peace One Day turned to BeThere Global for help.
“Streaming a concert using YouTube was a first for us and a great opportunity to demonstrate what our equipment and technical team can do”, continued Martin Shepherdly. “We knew we needed a robust platform to host the live stream and were delighted when YouTube agreed to give their support. The concert and live stream were a great success and we were very pleased with the numbers who watched the webcast.”
- The peak number of concurrent viewers on YouTube was 2,529
- The total view time (hours) was 6,034
- The stream was viewed in 88 countries
Peace One Day founder Jeremy Gilley said: “BeThere Global orchestrated an incredibly high quality stream of the concert. Someone came up to me during the evening and showed me the stream on a smart phone – it was like watching HD TV. Peace One Day will be producing a number of high-profile events in the coming years and the stream of the Derry~Londonderry concert is an important benchmark. I hope that live streaming our concerts in the future will enable us to reach increasingly large numbers of people with the message of Peace Day 21 September, wherever they are in the world.”
