BigTeams (BT) is enhancing their custom designed high school athletic website services by developing key partnerships which create a comprehensive product for athletic departments nationwide. Connecting with rSchoolToday, a scheduling software which mainstreams all team’s sports schedules and smugmug, a photo sharing and posting software which allows athletic director’s to fundraise through the sale of approved images, elevates the function of the BT sites aligning user’s needs with ease. As a result of these strategic advances in their site development, BT has been awarded a statewide contract for Virginia by The Virginia High School League to build a new VHSL.org website and to provide each member school with an athletic website.
The partnership with rSchoolToday encouraged the VHSL to find BT as the fit for their school’s needs statewide. BT is familiar with Virginia, as they are located in Warrenton and built their first high school athletic site for Fauquier High School in 2000. “What started out as fun, a way to go back to our roots and experience hometown athletics, turned into an idea to create the most informative and easy to use resource for high school athletic departments, athletes, their families and communities,” shares Matt Carson, co-founder of BT. He continues, “As former athletes, we understand the challenges school sporting teams face with communication and most importantly fundraising. Our sites are the solution for both the coaches and staff of the athletic departments and for the community.”
In late 2011, BT intends to continue their product enhancement through online video capabilities. Athletic Directors can have the capability to upload sporting events for future viewing and potentially stream a game live for their audience to enjoy. Keeping up with their audience, BT is creating an APP for athletic departments to consider. This would allow real time updates directly to a smartphone for rosters, sport scheduling updates including last minute cancellations or school announcements, essentially anything the coach needs to share with their community. BT plans to make this available in time for fall 2011 seasons.
Through this comprehensive approach, BigTeams has designed sites in over thirty states since 2001. Co-founded by Matt Carson and Steve Sutherland, who happen to be child-hood friends, BigTeams added another leader in 2008, Jeff Gilbert, to reach the full potential of their product. Located in Warrenton, Virginia, BigTeams employs a full support staff to meet programming, product development and customer service needs. They continuously reach out to their current customers and others in high school athletic departments to provide high quality team websites. BigTeams produces the most comprehensive athletic websites in the nation by branding each high school team website for each particular school, providing an easy to use administrative area that allows the athletic director, coaches, and booster clubs to manage the sports content for their respective teams.
