When looking back on 65 years of service, it is no surprise Land Rover Hinsdale vehicles have evolved with the ever-changing automotive industry. More specifically, Bill Jacobs Land Rover has seen many come and go throughout its time and they’re sure to be many more to come. Land Rover Hinsdale is excited to announce they are offering special pricing on select vehicles in order to commemorate this special occasion.

What better way to celebrate the 65th anniversary than to look back and remember the people and cars that started it all. The first Land Rover was introduced to the public back in 1948 at the Amsterdam Motor Show. The Landie, designed by Maurice Wilks, was truly where it all began. Wilks was determined to make a tough and sturdy vehicle that would hold up under any condition. That philosophy still rings true with Land Rover vehicles today.

In the early years, mention of a Land Rover Defender sparked memories of mud, rough terrain, and outdoor scenes. Nowadays, Land Rover designers carefully maintain that rugged feel, while introducing sleek sophisticated vibes as well.

“Some of the early Land Rovers are now collectors’ items. The original Defenders were so strongly made that there are even some that have been handed down through families,” said Eric Dymock, motoring expert and author of The Land Rover File: All Models Since 1947.

Land Rover is quite certainly one of the most well-known products in the British automotive industry today, not only in Europe, but throughout the globe. Currently there are four generations of the Range Rover. The changes were made over 43 years and have set the standard for off-road ability and on-road handling and luxury.

“They do so many different things and they do it so well. But it wasn’t until Gerry McGovern joined the design staff that they became glamorous,” continued Dymock. “He has made them a success in the 21st century. He has made them contemporary.”

Land Rover Hinsdale has a great selection of new, pre-owned and certified Land Rover inventory. Prices will be dramatically reduced to celebrate 65 years of Land Rover.

“It’s been six and half decades since Land Rover made its debut in 1948. It’s estimated that two-thirds of all these incredible vehicles are still on the road somewhere on the planet,” said Jeff Kruger, GM of Land Rover Hinsdale. “We are celebrating this special event by reducing prices on our inventory of tough, reliable and refined Land Rovers.”
