It's All in Your Name When It Comes To Being Lucky and Winning Big in the UK

Bingo website BingoPort.co.uk has conducted a lucky names survey into what names are the most likely to win big in Online Bingo, lotteries and other games of luck.

London, UK (PRWEB) July 15, 2008 -- Online Bingo website BingoPort.co.uk has revealed the luckiest names according to a poll carried out by an online research company, with the winner being Debbie.

The study of the United Kingdom's online bingo players shows the name made famous by Blondie star Debbie Harry is the luckiest when it comes to winning cash windfalls.

In second place was Jennifer - like Hollywood star Jennifer Aniston who became the highest paid TV actress of all time with her £500 an episode paycheck for the tenth season of "Friends".

Third was Kelly, fourth was Nicola and completing the top five was the old-fashioned girls name Dorothy.

Scott Logan, Managing Director of http://www.BingoPort.co.uk - which carried out the study of 5,000 people said, 'Our research shows Debbie's do win more competitions online than any other women's name.'

"They also regard themselves as lucky so their positive attitude is obviously working. And 40 per cent of Debbie's also have a lucky number so chance must be on their side."

"Interestingly, Kelly was the biggest winning name when it came to winnings from free entries such as free competitions and free bingo."

'On the other hand, Mandy is the name with the worst luck for winning money with Shirley, Lucy and Irene also proving unfortunate.'

Men who are most likely to get land a windfall are called Charlie with Bob in second, Chris in third, Mark fourth and Will fifth.

Others to make the top ten were Rob, Alex, Gary, Anthony and Andy.

Logan added, 'Prince Charles has certainly has his fair share of windfalls in his lifetime and his name does seem to have a lucky streak, even when he has played bingo.'

'Thirty-eight per cent of Charlie's said they pick the same lottery or bingo numbers every week and one in ten even have lucky clothes - so maybe this is their secret weapon.'

'Men called Geoff, Jeremy, Patrick or Shaun don't seem share the winning streak though - their names proved the least likely to come into money.'
