After years of development, BioBag is proud to be the first to add Compostable Cling Wrap to our extensive compostable plastic product line. This revolutionary bioplastic innovation is made from the raw material Mater-Bi ®, which is based on renewable raw materials and contains no polyethylene.
BioBag Cling Wrap easily clings to keep food fresh and provides excellent protection for all types of food, including those with high fat and acid content, which is not always the case for traditional cling film. BioBag Cling Wrap has very good technical characteristics in terms of both strength and tear resistance. It is made without using plasticizers or other additives that can be transferred to the food. BioBag Cling Film provides excellent protection for food against microorganisms and rapid deterioration because it prevents / restricts the food from exposure to moisture and oxygen. The film also provides a high odor barrier preventing transmission to other foods.
When finished, one can discard the cling wrap with other compostable waste. BioBag Cling Wrap composts right along with other organic waste to create nutrient-rich soil!
BioBag Cling Wrap can currently be purchased by consumers through select online retailers (greenhome.com, buygreen.com) and natural food retailers. BioBag anticipates national distribution for this new product soon. Please contact BioBag directly for wholesale, commercial and distributor interest.
BioBag is a world leader in providing bags and films for the collection of organic waste for the purpose of composting. Unlike regular plastic, BioBags can be consumed by micro-organisms that live in our soils. Because of this, our bags can also be readily composted along with organic waste in municipal composting facilities. BioBag isn’t a large petroleum-based plastic bag company that now conveniently dabbles in the new business of compostable bags. We are, instead, a small company of dedicated employees, who are fully committed to only producing certified compostable bags and films. BioBag strongly supports the use of GMO free certified crops and participates in a source offset program with our suppliers. There is no polyethylene in a BioBag and most of our bags are proudly made in the USA. Little steps really do make a BIG difference, especially, when GREEN is all we do!
Twenty years ago, the concept of successfully separating organic waste from entering landfills seemed to be a dream. Now, compostable waste separation is a highly successful, fast growing practice thanks in part to the creation of compostable bags.
