Blog Your Dream For Charity and Understanding and a Chance to Win a Trip to China
The China Dreamblogue is the creation of two English teachers in China who will travel to 22 mainland provinces in 2007 for charity and understanding. Bloggers and site visitors may submit their dream for themselves or someone else via audio, video, image or text format. The project, to benefit orphanages, libraries, and victims of cancer, is looking for volunteers, corporate sponsors, and everyday people to participate.
Guangzhou, China PRC (PRWEB) June 18, 2007 -- The Blog of Dreams is asking this question: If you could save lives and provide needed educational opportunities to rural and orphaned children for only a few minutes of your free time, would you do it?

The dream of Yanzhi Liu and David DeGeest is to travel in 2007 to every mainland province in China. During this journey, they will chronicle the everyday dreams of ordinary citizens. Their motivation for the trip came from a group of women now known as the League of Extraordinary Chinese Women. The LOECW was comprised of 5 women from various walks of Chinese life: they were wives, semi-professional women, a bookkeeper, and a student. The one thing they had in common was advanced-stage HER2 breast cancer. These women, with little access to formal education and even less information from outside sources about the disease they had contracted, naturally and courageously combated cancer with friendship, enthusiasm, meditation, and what medical care they could afford.
As Yanzhi and David worked to help these women, they began to think about other people left behind in the wake of China's huge industrial growth. Around this time, they met Thomas Stader, an expat who devotes his time, talent, and treasure to orphaned and impoverished children educationally and economically left behind by giving them access to life-changing books. Because Yanzhi and David are educators and bloggers actively involved in search engine marketing optimization and education, they sought to find a way to organize the energies of the people they had met and into a force that would help others realize the dreams they hold dear.
The Dreamblogue is a simple concept. The blog will publish dreams in the form of pictures, messages, videos, and audio dreams submitted by those who wants to share them with the world. They can do this anonymously or with names attached. Readers of the blog and corporate sponsors may opt to help make some of these dreams real. Also, after a specified period of time (once a month or once a quarter), readers will select a contributor who will win a prize donated by one of the charitable sponsors. The Dreamblogue will give away vacations to China as well as scholarships to study in China, the US, and the UK. Four such scholarships have already been donated to the Dreamblogue effort as well as two trips to China. Anyone who links to the blog will be eligible for a drawing that will determine the winners of the trips.
Prospective corporate sponsors may donate technical equipment, software, or cutting-edge gadgets that will appeal to a broad demographic. The Dreamblogue writers view this as a way to introduce new and exciting projects to the world's second-largest internet market as well as readers already coming from 100 different countries. Both David and Yanzhi are award-winning writers and bloggers and will review products, write travelogues, or do in-depth research on request and agreement with corporate sponsors.
The Dreamblogue hopes to attract corporate sponsors that will help create enough interest in the blog so that traffic will generate advertising revenue that will be given directly to educational and medical concerns. All of the money from these sources will go directly to the 501(c)3 charities the blog supports. Funds will go to the blog's charity partners: The Library Project, which builds libraries in orphanages and rural schools all over China and Asia, and The Reading Tub, a charity that promotes children's literacy in the United States and a breast cancer fund to be chosen at a later date.
The Blog of Dreams will have videocasts, podcasts, a China picture contest (to be turned into a coffee table book), a weekly Chinese horoscope, weekly Chinese recipes (also to be a book), and most importantly, the daily dreams of people from around the world. In all, the Dreamblogue is a tool of understanding and a place where dreams can be spoken into reality.
